1915: At the Polo Grounds, Yankee pitcher Jack Warhop gives up the first major league home run by his opposite number, Red Sox starter Babe Ruth. The home team go on to win 4-3, though, in 13 innings.

2007: Hideki Matsui doubles to left in an at-bat against Jarrod Washburn of the Mariners for his 2000th hit, Nippon Pro and Major League basebll combined. The Yankees go on to win 5-0.
