July 10th

On this day in Yankee history...

1917: Thanks to Ray Caldwell's 9 2/3 innings of no-hit relief (during which he also manages to plunk six batters), the Yankees best the St. Louis Browns 7-5 in a 17-inning contest.

2017: Aaron Judge adds another flourish to his outstanding rookie season as he wins the Home Run Derby staged at Marlins Park on the eve of the 2017 All-Star Game. The young slugger carries off the title with a total of 47 homers, including four measured at over 500 feet. He defeats Miguel Sano in the showdown as local favourite and defending champion Giancarlo Stanton is eliminated in the first round.
